Event Details

 

Have you ever been asked to build an app for the iPhone or iPad but don't know where to start? Are you interested in learning more developing products for Apple’s mobile operating system? Have you heard about all the cool apps being build by local companies, and want to hear about their experiences?

 

MIMA and TECHdotMN are proud to present a day of iOS Strategy, Design & Development Workshops on May 13, 2011.  Seating is limited to 25 participants per workshop (attendees can sign up for one, two, three or all four, if space is available). This free event is open to MIMA member and the general public, geared toward developers and strategists alike.

 

The event includes four 1.5-hour workshop sessions in the Briefing Room at the Apple Store, Uptown (3018 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55408). The workshops will consist of intimate conversations and discussions about iOS in addition to presentations by the following speakers:

 

8:30-10:00 Decisions in Mobile Development - Dan Wick, CTO of RedStamp and Erin Newkirk, CEO of RedStamp

10:30-12:00 Function Meets Design - Aaron Shapiro, Evan Carpenter and Jesse Ross of Sevnthsin

• 1:30-3:00 Developing: The Successes, Mistakes and Joys - Wade Beavers, CEO of DoApp

• 3:30-5:00 The Business of Developing - Rob Weber, VP/Co-Founder of W3i, and Justin Grammens and Damon Allison of Recursive Awesome

 

Mobile transactions are enabled by 43% of corporations who have a mobile-optimized website or application. According to Burson-Marsteller, 62% Fortune 50 companies are using mobile apps.

 “Our overall goal with this event is to elevate talent through education and networking, to showcase the great work being done in this industry in Minnesota, and to encourage further innovation and growth,” said MIMA President Tim Brunelle.
